Criteria for Judges Lists

JUDGES A1 List.

Criteria: persons having been approved by the Kennel Club to award Challenge Certificates in Irish Terriers, completed their first appointment and have the support of the North of England Irish Terrier Club.

JUDGES A2 List.

Criteria: Judges who, if invited to judge by a Society, would in principle be approved by the Kennel Club to award CCs in the breed for that occasion.


JUDGES A3 List.

Judges who will be supported by this Club if proposed to award Challenge Certificates in Irish Terriers.

Breed specialist Judges:

Criteria: Have the support of the North of England Irish Terrier Club;

  1. Have at least 7 (seven) years experience in judging Irish Terriers and have the support of the North of England Irish Terrier Club (KC Policy.)
  2. To have judged an Irish Terrier Breed Show or a Championship Show without CC's;
  3. To have judged a minimum of 30 Irish Terriers
  4. Have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their first entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances)(KC Policy.)
  5. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures (KC Policy.)
  6. To have attended a Conformation and Movement seminar conducted by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer (KC Policy)
  7. To have attended and pass the Points of a Dog assessment conducted by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment (KC Policy.)
  8. To have attended at least one breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment. A maximum of 5 (five) dogs from one seminar only may be included when counting the number of dogs judged (KC Policy.)
  9. To have stewarded for least at 12 (twelve) shows of any breed (KC Policy.)
  10. During the last 3 (three) years to have attended at least 9 (nine) Irish Terrier Breed Club Shows (any level) or Championship Shows with CCs on offer

All-round Judges:

Criteria:

  1. A minimum of 7 (seven) years judging experience in any one breed and to include 5 (five) years judging in Irish Terriers and to have the support of the North of England Irish Terrier Club (KC Policy.)
  2. To have judged at least one Irish Terrier Breed Club Open Show and/or Championship Show without CC's.
  3. To have judged a minimum of 30 (thirty) Irish Terriers.
  4. To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed (KC Policy.)
  5. To have attended at least one breed specific Seminar and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable. A maximum of 5 (five) dogs from one seminar only may be included when counting the number of dogs judged (KC Policy.)
  6. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 (three) dogs of any breed when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances)
  7. During the last 3 (three) years to have attended at least 9 (nine) Irish Terrier Club Breed Shows (any level) or Championship Shows with CCs on offer.
JUDGES B List.

Judges who will be supported by this Club to judge Irish Terriers at shows where Challenge Certificates are not on offer.

Breed specialists:

Criteria: Have the support of the North of England Irish Terrier Club; owned or exhibited Irish Terriers for at least three years; attended during the last three years at least six from Club Shows (any level), and/or Championship Show judging with CCs on offer for ITs, and/or Breed seminars; stewarded at least three shows (any breed), have demonstrated extensive showing experience and judging experience including judging 10 dogs which may include no more than 5 dogs from seminars.

All Rounders:

Criteria: Have the support of the North of England Irish Terrier Club; attended during the last three years at least nine from Club Shows (any level), and/or Championship Show judging with CCs on offer for ITs, and/or Breed seminars; during the last three years stewarded at least three shows (any breed), and/or have demonstrated extensive showing and/or judging experience including judging at least 10 Irish Terriers which may include no more than 5 dogs from seminars, be on at least a B list for another breed.

JUDGES C List.

Judges who will be supported by this Club to judge at Limited Shows and at Open Shows (up to three classes).

Criteria: Have the support of The North of England Irish Terrier Club; have demonstrated a current, active interest in Irish Terriers, e.g. have attended at least three Club Shows within the past five years; Have a basic understanding of judging through exhibiting, handling, stewarding or involvement with show organisation.


JUDGES' ROLL of HONOUR

Criteria: As a mark of respect by the Members of the Club for judges who have awarded CCs in Irish Terriers; have retired from judging; and who, in their time of judging, have demonstrated exceptional knowledge of the breed.
